AHEC AMERICAN HARDWOOD EXPORT COUNCIL

AHEC is the leading international trade association for the American hardwood industry, representing companies and trade associations engaged in the export of a full range of U.S. hardwood products, including – lumber, veneer, plywood, flooring, moulding and dimension materials. American hardwoods derive from sustainably managed forests in the United States. American hardwoods can be used for a wide range of applications and offer a huge diversity of colour and character. Examples are: interior and exterior joinery, furniture, and flooring.

AHEC provides the global hardwood industry importers, specifiers and end-users with promotional assistance, technical information and sources of supply for American hardwoods from its offices located in Europe, Mexico, Japan, Hong Kong and Shanghai to serve the needs of the global community.

AHEC has played a major role in the WMF in supporting shows such as Plan Expo and Woodspec A Guide to Designing, Detailing and Specifying Timber in Ireland.

COILLTE

Coillte is a commercial company operating in forestry, land based businesses, renewable energy and panel products. The company employs around 1,200 people and was established in 1988. It owns over 445,000 hectares of land, about 6.5% of the land cover of Ireland.

ECC Teo

ECC has been supplying quality construction, fencing and pallet timber products to the Irish and UK markets since 1992 when it was founded by P.J. Fahy in partnership with Aurivo Co-Operative Society. It has grown to become a major force in the Irish and UK timber industry   with annual turnover exceeding €60million  In 2016, Aurivo’s stake in the business was  acquired by P.J. Fahy. ECC, which was always a family run company, is today a family owned company, processing 450,000m3 of logs annually.

The company’s headquarters and main production facility is located in the scenic west of Ireland and also maintains sales offices in Liverpool and Ipswich to ensure a high level of customer service. ENTERPRISE IRELAND

The Wood Marketing Federation stand ‘Woodspace’ which was launched at the 2009 Plan Expo show in Dublin made its way to Timber Expo 2011 at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry. The exhibition which was commissioned by WMF in 2008 initially featured imported timber but in 2009, the award winning architect Ciaran O’Connor turned his attention to Irish wood using eased edged all over Sitka spruce sourced from Murray Timber. The result was widely aclaimied by visitors to Plan Expo in 2010. Paul Harvey, WMF Chairman was delighted to hear that Willie Fitzgerald, Enterprise Ireland, Patrick Murray, Murray Timber and Richard Lowe, Coillte wished to use Woodspace as the central exhibition area for Irish companies at the Coventry event. The show was a huge success and featured WMF members Enterprise Irelaand, Coillte, Grainger Sawmills, Murray Timber Group and Glennon Brothers.

Since 1913, Glennon Brothers has been manufacturing high-quality timber products and is now the premier name in Irish and UK timber processing. The Glennon Brothers sawmills in Longford and Fermoy in Ireland and Windymains Timber and Adam Wilsons in Scotland supply both the Irish and UK markets with products for the construction, pallet wood and fencing industries.
